For years, registering a .com.tr meant producing a trademark certificate or a company registration document. That rule did two things at once: it raised the trust attached to the extension, and it froze the resale market almost completely.
Removing the document requirement flipped the picture. Anyone can now apply, so demand widened — but supply didn't. Most exact-match names were registered years ago, and they never came back into circulation.
The result is a textbook scarcity setup: fixed supply meeting rising demand. Prices moved up most visibly on names matching two- or three-word Turkish search phrases. A .com.tr for a phrase like "aradığın burada" simply cannot be created from scratch today.
For buyers the practical consequence is this: acquiring a .com.tr is no longer a paperwork question, it's a price question. That turns the decision from a legal obstacle into an investment one.
